makeup’ look is one of the biggest current beauty trends, both on the red
carpet and on the catwalk lately, with a strong move towards looking
fresh-faced, clean and as though wearing no makeup at all. The look is all
about dewy skin that doesn’t have caked on foundation, while some finish off
this look with a strong lip or bold eye to add a touch of glamour. Jumping on
board this trend, these 5 celebrities all love the clean and fresh makeup look
for the red carpet, explaining what they usually do when it comes to getting
beautified for a big event.
1. Gigi Hadid
her face to have that 'no makeup' look but adds contouring: "I feel like,
for most events, if I'm going as a high-fashion model, I usually just like
doing a clean face. But I feel like even with a clean face, you still have to
kind of contour - so it's kind of like the no-makeup look. I really love the
nude palette from Maybelline for that because there are really good matte nude
colours that you use to shadow your eyes and make it look like."
2. Jessica Chastain
thinks just one facial feature should have product to make it pop, and the rest
very natural: "Hair down, bright lips and a memorable dress: done. Nothing
says femme fatale quite like smoky eyes and sleek waves."
3. Lily James
recently experienced too much makeup and says she likes when it looks barely
there: "[I went to] Italy and they tend to put heavier make-up on there,
when I'm getting it, I'm like, 'Yeah, get it on,' but then I realise in
hindsight it's maybe too much. But that's what I think make-up artists always
say, that it's good to keep it bright and fresh and focus on either the eye or
4. Megan Fox
her skin to look fresh and usually just wears a red lip: "I try to keep my
make-up fresh, clean and pretty on the red carpet. My signature look is red
lipstick worn with plain eyes, so I apply a light foundation, then on my cheeks
I use blush or sometimes the same lipstick that I'm wearing."
5. Meghan Trainor
prefers when makeup looks very minimal and isn't obvious: "I like simple
makeup—like when it looks like you don’t have a lot of makeup on but you clearly
got it and you’re rocking it. I also like the “cat eye” [look]."
