11/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup wheat bran

2 tsp. pumpkin-pie spice

1 tsp. baking soda

1/8 tsp. kosher salt

1 cup buttermilk

1 large egg

¼ cup unsweetened applesauce

¼ cup molasses

¼ cup granulated sugar

1 Tbsp. canola oil

1 tsp. pure vanilla extract

¾ cup raisins

1.    Preheat oven to 350°F. Line 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners.

2.    In large bowl, whisk together flour, wheat bran, pumpkin-pie spice, baking soda, and kosher salt.

3.    In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, egg, applesauce, molasses, sugar, oil, and vanilla. Add buttermilk mixture to flour mixture and stir until just incorporated; fold in raisins.

4.    Divide batter among muffin cups and bake 25 to 30 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm, if desired.
