‘Into the Woods’ star Anna Kendrick has opened up on learning how to style herself for the red carpet, explaining that she has learnt to tell when a dress just won’t work or doesn’t look the part. She says that there is no point in kidding yourself when it comes to getting the look right, and if it doesn’t look completely amazing in the changing room before you buy it, then she advises to leave it behind, because no makeup or accessories will change how it looks entirely. She explained that she has learnt this lesson the hard way from experiencing it personally:
”Something I’ve learned the hard way is that if you’re on the fence about a dress and think, well, if I get a nice bag and shoes and do a bold lip, maybe it’ll be an outfit, it never is. If you’re in a changing room thinking, oh those shoes at home might sex it up, you don’t want to buy that dress.”
One random beauty trick that she has come to rely on over the years is to always scrub her lips and exfoliate them well, because it makes them look more cleaner and polished looking, especially when wearing lipstick. Anna often suffers from cracked lips and says scrubbing them regularly has helped. The actress opened up on her helpful beauty secret:
”These seemed really unnecessary to me until I had chapped lips that were so bad they cracked. So I used a scrub that you leave on for two minutes. It was really helpful.”
