Naomi Campbell to Judge on BFC/Vogue Fashion Fund Panel

British legendary model Naomi Campbell is set to become a judge for BFC/Vogue Fashion Fund panel, which awards a rising designer which a £200,000 prize to boost their business, as well as more help to ensure they succeed in the long term. Naomi joins a panel of fashion insiders to help select which lucky designer deserves this year’s honour. Vogue UK editor Alexandra Shulman, who is also on the panel, commented that she is excited to see Naomi taking part and she believes those involved will be able to debate who should win:

“I’m thrilled that Naomi is going to be with us. I think it will bring a whole new perspective to the process. I think it’s going to be a really good, and quite passionate, debate. The recognition from winning is pretty massive, not just here but internationally.”

BFC CEO Caroline Rush, also one of the judges involved, commented that the competition now includes some very successful names who have been past winners such as Erdem and Christopher Kane, and it offers young designers the chance to move up through the ranks quickly and grow to see their full potential. She explained:

“Our growing hall of fame of winners of the BFC Vogue Fashion Fund is incredibly impressive. We’re very proud of the hall of fame and it really has done everything we aspired the fashion fund to do. This is a brilliant opportunity, not only to potentially win £200,000, but a fantastic mentoring scheme, getting access to great experts in the industry. And these designers already have a global presence; they have a great following in the media. But it’s about really elevating them one step higher.”
