The daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, actress and musician Zoe Kravitz has a down to earth take on beauty, preferring natural products that are free of harmful chemicals, and she even likes to go minimal with makeup too. Zoe loves shopping for scented oils and often composes her own fragrances by mixing several together. She does have a few makeup must-haves and never leaves the house without adding just a hint of colour to her cheeks. Here are 5 of her best beauty secrets!

1.      She Uses Natural Skin Products

Zoe prefers to use natural skincare brands: “I like to use products by Simply Divine Botanicals and Dayle Breault, who’s my facialist. She makes her own products, and they’re really nice and all-natural. She makes them on a full moon like a hippie-dippie. I love it. And just coconut oil in my hair.”

2.      She Adds Colour to Her Cheeks

She loves to add a hint of colour to her cheeks: "I do always wear blush, but it’s like a stain. I’ve been wearing the Benefit liquid one — it’s called Benetint — since high school. For a while, I was much more into shading, like contour or bronzer, and sometimes in the winter I’ll switch to that."

3.      She Keeps Coverage Minimal

She uses minimal makeup and just dabs on concealer where it's needed: "I don’t like a lot of coverage. I’ll dab on Radiant Creamy Concealer by Nars where I need it. And there’s something called Lycogel that I discovered when I was shooting in South Africa."

4.      Her Go-to Hair Brand

She's discovered a great hair brand: "I use Wen products to wash my hair. The shampoo is really a conditioner and shampoo in one. It’s especially for African-American hair because it doesn’t strip it of all the oils. My mom introduced it to me."

5.      She Makes Her Own Perfumes

Zoe mixes oils to create her own fragrances: "I love oils. Right now, I like vanilla musk, which I picked up at Whole Foods. But I’ll have others, and I usually mix different scents. Sometimes I’ll add a sandalwood."
