Former ‘Twilight’ actress Kristen Stewart has been named as
the new face of Chanel. Kristen was in attendance at the recent Chanel ‘Metiers
d’Art’ Paris Dallas Pre-Fall 2014 collection and now her rare appearance at the
event makes perfect sense – she’ll be the face of the gorgeous new collection
upon its release next year. She was spotted on the star-studded front row in
the audience wearing a grey cropped top and bright leather trousers, completing
her look with dark makeup and loose hair as she watched the cowboy-themed show.
The new campaign is set to be photographed by the fashion
house’s head designer Karl Lagerfeld who is repsonsible for all of the current
Chanel images, but unfortunately we have a while to wait before the release
date – it will appear in May 2014 for the first time. Kristen will take over
the celebrity ambassador role over from actress Tilda Swinton, who fronted the
label’s Scottish themed campaign recently.
Kristen and Karl first crossed paths back in 2012 when the
actress was being photographed in Chanel haute couture for a photo shoot and it
appears they must have bonded during the shoot! This isn’t the first time she
has been linked to a fashion house however, Kristen has also fronted campaigns
for the Balenciaga fragrance ‘Florabotanica’. The actress will likely be seen
in Chanel when she makes red carpet appearances as the new face of the label.
