Held at the
Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, the 2014 American Music Awards brought out a big
gathering of celebrities to celebrate the last year in musical achievement.
These 5 stars all looked gorgeous as they arrived on the red carpet, showing
off flawless beauty looks that suited them perfectly and also highlighted their
outfits on the night. From bright bold lips to daring eye makeup and statement
hairstyles, these stars took some beauty risks and had fun with their makeup

1. Elizabeth Banks
‘Hunger
Games’ actress Elizabeth Banks swept her loose hair to one side, adding a side
parting to her blonde hair for the event. Her makeup was quite subtle, layers
of mascara but minimal eyeliner, a matte complexion and the whole look was
completed with a statement bright orangey red lip that suited her colours on
the night beautifully, simple but very striking.
2. Jennifer Lopez
Going for
full-on dramatic glamour, Jennifer Lopez did not disappoint as she hit the red
carpet. Her complexion was glowing with an almost gloss-tint around her eyes
which set off the daring dark smoky eyes which used dark eye makeup both above
and below the eye. Adding glossy pink lips and slicked back hair, Jennifer
created a sexy-meets-sophisticated beauty look.
3. Rita Ora
Rita Ora is
known for her love of statement makeup, and once again she experimented with a
unique look. Wearing a bright yellow dress for the event, Rita highlighted her
fashion choice by wearing a subtle yellow eyeshadow, feathered out from above
the crease of her eye. Adding some eyeliner and mascara to her inner eye line,
Rita finished off the look with nude lips, structured brows and a tidy hairbun.
4. Selena Gomez
She may be
young, but Selena Gomez always seems to look quite timelessly beautiful
whenever she’s on the red carpet. The singer and actress impressed with a
glossy red lipstick, dark smoky eye and rosy cheek look. With center-parted
tidy hair and dangling red earrings setting off the look, Selena is gorgeous in
this classic hair and makeup combo.
5. Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift
went quite natural for the event, highlighting her blue eyes with some smoky
bronze eye makeup teamed with a pink glossy lip and glowing complexion. She
wore her hair loose, but in a vintage inspired wavy style.
