Stella
McCartney is teaming up with Adidas to launch a new, younger sports line named
StellaSport. Launching on January 15th, the collection will be available at
Topshop and Nordstrom. Opening up on the fresh approach to sportswear, Stella
explained that the designs are for girls who need pieces to function on all
levels throughout their busy day - from the campus to the club. With new
signature pieces in the collection, Stella reveals that there is a unique
fusion of fashion and technology throughout that is unique and very
forward-thinking. She explained: ''It takes the Stella girl from the campus to
the club and finds a link in sport and technology without sacrificing style.
There are signature moments, like our new self-laced sneakers, that give individual
personality. These pieces are designed to complement your life and be totally
realistic that fashion and sport technology are here to stay as a huge part of
our life and wardrobes, and this is the attitude we are shouting about.''
Stella
has already been working with Adidas on her 'Stella McCartney for Adidas'
collection for the past decade, and has ventured several times into the
creation of sportswear for the British national teams at various sporting
events. Now, she is rumoured to be designing for the British Olympics team for
when the event takes place next year in Brazil. A source already commented:
''Stella was thrilled to be approached once again and said yes straight away.
She is a big supporter of strong women, and wants to make the female athletes'
kit feminine yet dynamic.''
