Reality
tv star and style icon Olivia Palermo has spoken on attending fashion shows
(she's always front row when Fashion Week rolls around), as well as commenting
on picking out her wedding outfit and launching her own website. Olivia says
that her number one biggest pet peeve at fashion shows is when people are too
busy on their phones taking photos and videos of what's on the catwalk. She
thinks those in attendance owe it to the designers to focus on the garments in
real time and just see the pieces in front of them, because they can easily see
the photos at another time anyway: “You’re not focusing in the same way as if
you weren’t snapping away. Designers have worked too hard for you to take 25
pictures. Beautiful ones will be up on Style.com anyway!”
Olivia
wore a custom design by Carolina Herrera for her wedding day, and she explains
that she approached preparing for the big event like it was any other
appointment because she is already so used to seeing fashion in a business
light. She commented on her wedding fitting: “I’m very much a fashion person.
It was like going to any other market appointment and finding something I
liked."
Speaking
on deciding to launch her own personal website, Olivia says that the fashion
industry is moving ahead so much and she felt it was the right time to enter
cyberspace: “The industry has changed so much in the last ten years, especially
with the move to online. Between online evolving and e-commerce growing, it was
the perfect time to start my website."
