Actress
Blake Lively has already been named as one of the best dressed stars at this
year's Cannes Film Festival - she has graced the red carpet in several very
impressive outfits by Chanel and Gucci. Now, she has opened up on her personal
style, revealing that she really enjoys the process of dressing up. Blake says
she often spends time putting together outfits at home and says she finds it so
much fun: ''Sometimes I wake up and I liken myself to
a little girl having a tea party at the house all of the time. I
actually dress up more in my home than I do walking down the street, just
because it's so much fun to play dress up.''
Blake
comments that when she's dressing for the red carpet, she looks to timeless
style icons for inspiration and prefers to have elegant style rather than work
in fashion trends: ''I always look to women in the past because they're
not wearing what's trending now. So Katharine Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Diane
Keaton - because I look for style not trends. They always look like
princesses and, for me, that is style.''
The
former 'Gossip Girl' star is currently married to actor Ryan Reynolds and says
that when she does have kids, she'll want them to think her style was so
effortless and classic, not dated or embarrassing: ''I always want to
wear clothes that my children will one day look back on and say 'Oh,
you look amazing - you didn't you keep thast?' Not, 'Oh my God - I
can't believe you wore that.' ''
