Maleficent
star Elle Fanning is one of Hollywood's youngest talents, and the actress has
spoken on her style and being different when it comes to getting dressed.
Opening up on completing her first ever photo shoot, Elle says she really
enjoyed it because she always loved getting dressed up in costumes and she sees
fashion shoots as an extension of that: "I honestly was so excited, I
loved it. It was complete dress-up, it still is one of my favourite things to
do."
Elle
says that even in her early years she was always interested in fashion and she
is grateful to her mother for allowing her to express herself through clothing
because she felt free to wear whatever she wanted: "I was aware of
fashion from a really young age and my mother would let me be very free in what
I wanted to put on.”
Elle
also stars in 'Phoebe in Wonderland' and she says she particularly loved the
role because it was all about standing out and not being afraid to be a unique
individual. She says being normal is just "boring" and she loves to
see diversity, especially when it comes to clothes, because it makes the world
a much more interesting place to live in: “Who wants to be the same? It’s
so boring. One of the lines I love is about not being one of the ‘awful
normals.’ You have to have diversity in the world or we’d be clones. That would
be terrible—especially in fashion!”
