British
actress Felicity Jones, who was nominated for an Oscar, has spoken on how she
chose her beautiful Alexander McQueen gown for the big Hollywood event. She
reveals that several weeks before the Oscars, she began speaking to the McQueen
design team and despite how much detail and work went into the remarkable gown,
they lucky managed to have it completed just in time for the red carpet. She
explained: "We started discussing this a few weeks ago. The detail and the
craftsmanship is just incredible, and they somehow managed to get it all
finished in time. It was really important for me to wear an English designer. I
wanted to save the best for last."
The
actress is just 5'3", so is often styled to wear high heels to boost her
height. Felicity says she has learnt how to walk in huge heels on the red
carpet and is now confident even though she often feels as though she is
wearing stilts underneath her dresses. She joked: “I can now walk in five-inch
heels, which is something I never thought I’d be able to do. Under my dresses,
literally, I’m on stilts.”
Felicity
previously said that she would enjoy trying on several gowns before making her
final decision and thinks it's like selecting a wedding dress, because you know
when you've found the right one: ''I'll probably try on a few, I imagine. But
I'll know when it's right because you put it on and it feels comfortable. It
fits. And you just go, 'This is the one!'''
