Actress
and style icon Kate Bosworth is launching her own shoe collection in
collaboration with Matisse. Featuring 20 different styles, the new line will
launch in March 2015 and be available at Nordstrom, as well as Revolve
Clothing. Opening up on creating the designs, Kate commented that she wanted to
make shoes that can fit in to many different scenarios (from work to parties),
while also just looking effortlessly stylish. She believes her new pieces can
be worn all day long and are comfortable enough to be worn so extensively:
''For me, it's important to translate a feeling when I design a shoe and the
woman I think of. They can transition you from a work environment like in my
own life to a cool cocktail event. They're directional enough that they stand
alone as a fashion piece. They're comfortable enough that you can wear them
around all day.''
Kate
says that each design has its own particular look and "story", but
ultimately she wanted to focus on the pieces being very wearable. She admits
that she isn't the kind of girl who runs around in heels and wanted her designs
to reflect a more functional take on fashion: ''Each pair has a story. I feel I
can express myself with a hint instead of screaming for attention. The truth
is, shoes have to be wearable and functional. There are some women who wear
7-inch stilettos and run around. That's not me. That's not the collection. I
want to feel comfortable and also very fashionable in my life.''
