Completing
their artistic visions down to the last tiny details, designers enlisted
professional nail art teams to create amazing works of art, applying intricate
manicures to models fingers for the various shows during New York Fashion Week.
Everything was seen during the week-long event – from embellishment to ombre
effects, nail art has reached new heights in the last few seasons and continues
to get even more impressive. Here is a run through the top 5 custom nail art
looks seen on the runway during the Autumn/Winter 2014 collection
presentations.
1. Betsey Johnson
Adding gold
foil and studded finishing touches to an bright blue base, this statement nail
look was one of the most elaborate – the backside of the nail was even painted
a contrasting purple.
2. ICB by Prabal Gurung
A moody midnight
blue with metallic silver and gold detailing was spotted at the ICB by Prabal
Gurung show. Subtle but shiny, the look was elegant and perfect for a red
carpet event or night out.
3. Jenny Packham
Jenny
Packham added beautiful jewels to glossy transparent nails, the details were
intricately positioned and the look was almost regal.
4. Libertine
Silver nails
faded to a dramatic white, while other glittering embellishments were also
added to create a 3D effect that really popped on the wearer.
5. Zang Toi
Zang Toi
opted for a duo tone look, placing a black base on the bottom of transparent
looking green nails, creating an almost reversed French manicure in an attention-grabbing
colour combination.
