British
singer Rita Ora has opened up on her unusual sense of style, revealing that her
mother often guides her when she's getting dressed. Rita likes to show off her
outfits to her mum, who often tells her what they're lacking. The hitmaker
reveals that she loves the whole dressing up process, from makeup to clothing,
and often feels as though she is in character when she's created a new look.
She said: ''When I wear crazy stuff, she'll [my mum will] say, 'I need sex. I
need glamour.' I got obsessed with makeup and makeup artists when I was young,
with people like Kevyn Aucoin. I feel like I'm a character already, as in,
like, I love dressing up. If I could live in a cabaret, I would. If I could
live in 'Moulin Rouge!', I would.''
Rita
is soon set to release her own fashion collection with Adidas Originals and was
also selected to be the new face of British cosmetics company Rimmel, who have
previously used models Kate Moss and Georgia May Jagger to front their
campaigns. She commented on taking on the role, saying that she wanted her
images to be bold and bright to bring an aspect of her personality through:
''Kate Moss is iconic, and Georgia May Jagger is an English rose; she's
gorgeous. Me, I like exaggerating a colour and being over the top. So when
Rimmel approached me, I said, 'I'd love to do it, but can we go crazy and do
bold colours?' I learnt a lot from them, and we really mixed and matched our
ideas.''
