House
of Cards actress Kate Mara has turned fashion stylist to creatively compose
some mannequin looks taken from H&M's Autumn 2014 'Studio' collection which
will soon be displayed at nine of the company's stores in New York City. The
Studio line is more expensive than the company's usual offering and the designs
already debuted as part of Paris Fashion Week earlier this year. Kate has
worked alongside star stylist and close friend Johnny Wujek to piece together
outfits that are inspired by NYC. She commented that it was a fun task to work
with the stylist on the project: "It was a no brainer for us to work
together on this as we both have a true appreciation for accessible high
fashion and our favorite city of New York."
Johnny
added that the job was a "dream come true" because he believes
H&M are leaders when it comes to fashion and he got to live out his fantasy
inspired by one of his favourite films by taking part which was exciting for
him: "H&M is a pioneer in the field of fashion and being asked to
Creative Direct their store windows for the opening of New York Fashion Week
was my Mannequin dream come true -- one of my favorite movies growing up,"
he added that the windows will be styled with "the uptown girl, the downtown
girl, the girl on the go, who is chic but hustling" in mind. The window
displays will only be unveiled on September 4th this year, just as New York
Fashion Week launches.
