Rita
Ora has just unveiled her first collaboration with sportswear company Adidas
which will go on sale before the end of the month. The British singer has also
commented on her designs, saying that she worked closely with the big brand to
make sure every detail was personalized to her own liking and she is excited
for the launch date: ''The collaboration came about through mutual love and
appreciation. I have always been a fan of Adidas Originals and respect what
they stand for in their fearlessness and originality. I worked very closely
with Adidas Originals to put a personal touch in every piece with connections
to my music, my career, and my life. I'm really proud of the collection and
beyond excited for my fans to get their hands on it!''
Rita
explained that in order to get inspired for her designs, she went back in time
through the archives at Adidas to examine past products that she could revamp
or restyle in her own way. She also got to know the team she was working with
on the project: ''I studied all of their shoes and their archives from the past
50 years. Before I started, I wanted to meet the team that was going to do it
with me. So I did a performance at their Christmas party and met everyone. I
was there for four hours going through a mood board, seeing what they have,
what they don't have and bouncing back and forth with ideas. From there on,
literally we'd meet every two weeks for a five-hour meeting.''
