Italian fashion house Versace has been collaborating with a
range of fresh and exciting designers each season for their diffusion ‘Versus’
label, including Christopher Kane and most recently, rapper M.I.A.. Head
designer of Versace, Donatella Versace, has just revealed that she’ll be
working alongside Anthony Vaccarello on the label’s upcoming Versus collection,
gushing that she loves Anthony’s approach to design because he isn’t afraid to
be daring: ''Anthony's clothes have everything
that I love: they are sensual, dynamic, daring. He is a natural, and has the
confidence and talent to push fashion where he wants it and where it is
relevant for today's women. I can't wait
to collaborate with him, and to see Versus Versace through his eyes.''
Equally as excited about
working alongside the famous designer, Vaccarello commented that he is working
on a “dream collection” and he has always admired the work of Versace because
they share similar aesthetics when it comes to design: ''I am so excited to be
collaborating with Donatella on this collection for Versus Versace. Versace is
a house that has always used extraordinary techniques to create its bold,
contemporary fashion. I feel like we share a similar spirit, so for me it is a dream
collaboration.''
The new collection will be
unveiled in 2014 and is set to include a full line of clothing as well as
coordinating accessories. Set to launch at a special event, the details have
yet to be revealed but as we’ve come to expect from the previous collections,
the launch surely won’t fall short of our expectations.
