Courtney
Love has praised singer-turned-designer Victoria Beckham for creating beautiful
clothing. Courtney, who was previously married to Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain
before his suicide in 1994, says that Victoria has managed to create some
amazing pieces and she has been slowly filling up her wardrobe with her
designs: ''You've got to hand it to her, man, those dresses are sexy,
they're beautiful. I have about eight dresses and I just ordered my first
bag.''
Recently
the grunge trend has been seeing a huge revival in the fashion world, with
countless designers paying tribute to the style on the catwalk. When asked how
she feels about the 90s music movement once again coming to the fore of popular
culture, Courtney says she sees it as a bit of a joke and isn't taking it too
seriously: "I just laugh and think how I can make money out
of it.''
Courtney
opens up on her close designer friends, saying she used to be Givenchy designer
Riccardo Tisci's muse but she isn't impressed with his current favourite star
muse - reality star Kim Kardashian - so she'd rather not be associated with
him. However, she is a fan of Saint Laurent designer Hedi Slimane, who is
mainly responsible for the grunge fashion revival: ''First I was
Riccardo Tisci's muse, so he can now have Kim Kardashian as a muse for all he
wants, but he's still a dear friend. I'm just not musing for him. Whereas
Hedi, he can't seem to stop with this grunge thing, he's like going for it and
going for it.''
