Singer
and X Factor UK judge Nicole Scherzinger recently announced that she will
launch a new fashion collection with British retailer Missguided. Now she has
opened up on the design process, revealing that she decided to study the
catwalks for inspiration and examined trends that are happening in the fashion
world. She explained: "I really studied the catwalks and would show
the team things I loved and didn't love. some of my favourite items in the
collection are my fishnet pieces because that's very on-trend for spring and
summer. Gucci is doing it, you know. It makes sense."

Speaking
on the kind of woman she designs for, Nicole says she wants to dress strong
women and help them feel feminine and powerful. She believes her designs make
the most of a woman's body and look amazing on anyone: "My
Missguided woman is really strong. It's the boss side of the girl, but the
clothes are still feminine and simple. The cut-out dresses are not fussy. They
are no-brainers. You put them on and it's like, 'Wow!' I wanted the clothes to
make people feel like the best version of themselves."
On
working with Missguided, Nicole reveals she has fulfilled an ambition to design
clothing now and although it is a big passion for her, she also still wants to
pursue her music career: "Missguided have said many times, 'Hey,
if your day job doesn't work out, do you want to come and work for us?' This is
one of the things I've always dreamed about doing. What girl gets to create
clothes they want that aren't already out there? I do have a passion for
it but obviously not as much as for my music and singing."
