We all struggle with blemishes and spots from time to time - it
seems only natural that skin changes and it can be affected by numerous things
that are just out of our control. Thankfully, there are ways to help quickly
heal, and cover up blemishes and spots so you can look as flawless as ever
without having to worry. Firstly, do not pull or prod at any spots, it will
only spread the infection and make the area more noticeable, making it much
harder to cover up with makeup later on. Begin by cleansing your face to keep
skin clean and fresh, moisturising as usual and then roll on a blemish stick or
apply some acne gel to treat the spot. There are plenty of natural remedies
that work great and some amazing products that work in even a few hours. Allow
your chosen product plenty of time to dry before you intend to add any makeup
over.
To conceal the blemish or spot, apply your regular foundation
over the area - a thicker formula may help to hide any redness and even out any
skin tone differences. If the spot is still visible - it's time to reach for a
concealer. Be careful of the colour you choose, and if you're not sure, go
lighter and blend with some foundation after application so it will match the
rest of your skin flawlessly. A green-tone concealer can be used if you
simply need to colour correct the skin, and as a bonus you can use it under
eyes on dark circles too, so it's a worthwhile investment for any skin that
needs colour balancing. If you're worried about that 'caked-on' look, some
makeup artists recommend mineral makeup as it hides blemishes just as well and
can also help heal at the same time.
