Charcoal
isn't something you immediately associate with beauty - that may be true, but
there are more and more charcoal-based products on the market than ever and
it's quickly becoming a trend that is very natural and health-focused. Ideal
for those with oily skin or hair especially, charcoal is said to effectively
remove toxins and bacteria, so it's no wonder that there are now a whole range
of products to try. One company, Biore, are leading the way with their range of
charcoal products including a deep pore facial cleanser which retails for a
budget friendly $6.49. They claim it cleanses twice more effectively than
regular products: "Skin acting up? Meet Charcoal. The new secret
weapon from the Bioré Skincare Experts. Draw out and trap 2x more dirt and impurities
than a basic cleanser with this innovative black cleanser that foams white and
rinses clean. Infused with Japanese Skin Purifying Technology, this facial
cleanser gives you results after just one use!"

As
well as cleansers, there are also a wide variety of charcoal shampoos hitting
shelves - including a product by Kuro for normal to oily hair. They said that
their shampoo lifts toxins and has cleansing benefits: "This shampoo
is excellent at removing impurities from hair. The White Charcoal adsorbs
all dirt and excess oil and leaves hair perfectly clean." Konjac
charcoal cleansing sponges have also seen a huge surge in sales and there are a
wide range of other charcoal beauty items including facial masks, lip balms,
conditioners, soap and even makeup products available.
