British singer Pixie Lott already found success as a fashion
designer when she collaborated with fashion brand Lipsy on a collection which
launched via the retailer Rock'N'Rose. Now, she has admitted that she would
love to try fashion design again, this time simply under her own name and
launching her very own brand.
Pixie comments that she enjoys the entire process when it comes
to putting new garments together and although it isn't currently her biggest
focus as she is working on an album, she still has it on her 'to do' list and
would love to launch her own brand: "I do really love fashion, even
designing dresses like this and picking out fabrics, so I would like to [do
more fashion]. But I'd like to do it solely by myself rather than a collaboration. It
just takes up a lot of time and obviously I'm focusing on the [new] album at
the moment. But I would to do more in the future."
Opening up on where she likes to shop, Pixie says she enjoys
London's specialist vintage shops the most and names her favourite places to
hit when looking for a fashion fix: "There's loads of vintage shops
around east London, like Brick Lane, especially on a Sunday. And in
Spitalfields Market, they have a vintage sale that's really good."
The singer admits that there is a downside to vintage purchases
because you don't know the full story behind what you are buying: "I
love buying vintage, but I feel like sometimes it has that horrible musky
smell, so you have to wash it a few times before you wear it. But it's funny to
think, 'Who owned this? Was it a nice person? Was it a nasty person?' You don't
know."
