Into The Blue
This hue is a
show-stopper as long as you do it right. The secret is to choose the right shade and go with either an eyeshadow or a liner, not both.
Aqua Eyes
Use a liner for
your bottom lash line and keep the rest
of your eye and lid area soft and natural. Blue liners in teal and
cobalt complement brown and black
eyes very well. Soft blue shadows also look fabulous on olive and
wheatish skin. Go for a sheer wash of pale, iridescent blue on your lids with a pearly highlighter under the
brow bone. Another option is to skip the liner or shadow altogether and use loads
of mascara, but keep it subtle. Most
importantly, make sure all eye makeup in ocean hues is waterproof.
Light
Accessorise blue
eyes with light and fresh makeup, with
just a clear gloss or a cheek stain. And for that sexy, dewy shine, a few drops of illuminator in your tinted moisturiser will work wonders.
Nailed It!
If the dazzle of
an electric blue shadow is too daring
for you, then go bold on your nails. Celebs are painting the town red with their blues. Miley Cyrus was spotted wearing sky blue nails in Miami a few
months ago. Interestingly, blue nail
paint didn’t make an appearance in
mainstream makeup before the ’60s and it was only in the ’90s that cosmetic companies abandoned the concept of creating only conventional reds
and pinks and ventured into the aqua
territory. Darker shades are usually
more flattering than lighter ones for Indian skin tones, with midnight blue being the most versatile
