Celebrity
stylist Rachel Zoe has revealed how amazed she was by actress Lupita Nyong'o at
the recent Academy Awards. Rachel thought Lupita's pearl-encrusted custom
Calvin Klein dress was absolutely amazing and it was her favourite look of the
night. She commented on the design: "Lupita Nyong'o in Calvin Klein, that
was just life-changing for me. Francisco Costa, who did that dress, is a very
dear friend and to be honest that dress had to be my number one, it was just
spectacular."
Speaking
on her other favourite looks from the Oscars, Rachel said she also instantly
fell in love with Julianne Moore's monochrome Chanel dress and 'Gone Girl' star
Rosamund Pike's Givenchy look from the special event. She said about her top
fashion picks from the star-studded ceremony: "Julianne Moore in Chanel,
that was a major black and white moment which I never get tired of. I loved the
Givenchy on Rosamund Pike, too. That was gorgeous."
The
stylist thinks that the key to interesting footwear is selecting a pair with
some kind of embellishment or attention-grabbing feature, and she thinks people
can easily make something unique work well because it's such a small area that
it just makes an outfit more detailed and stylish instantly: "I think the
great thing about shoes is that it's such a small platform - as in, the space
you're using is so small - so you can really get away with a pop. So if it's
sequins, grommets, studs, pearls, you can do it right along the toe and it's so
chic."
