There is no
stopping British model Cara Delevingne - her career
continues to go from strength to strength. The model has already dabbled in
fashion design once, creating a capsule collection of bags for Mulberry, and
now she has used her unique personal style as a source of inspiration for a new
DKNY collection. Featuring 15 unisex designs, the new line is set to hit stores
in November. Speaking on working with the label, the model says that it's
amazing to see her ideas as real life designs and she really enjoyed the
process: I can’t believe that some random, rough ideas have finally turned
into my own collection…designs with my own name on them and in collaboration
with the iconic DKNY brand. It is so wild to realize that it has been an entire
year since we began planning this project together…goes to show that time does
fly when you’re having fun.”
Cara
comments that DKNY were very supportive of her as she designed, encouraging her
to express her individuality through the items: "They always
encouraged my design input, my personal style and my ideas from the very
beginning of our working relationship. Dkny is urban
and edgy but, most of all, it's individual. They truly embrace the weirdness in
all of us, so you can really be yourself."
As part of
the collection's launch, Cara has created a special competition to find a few
members of the public to appear in the campaign alongside her. She
tweeted: "Guys! So, I created a sick special-edition collection with
@donnakarandkny coming later this year, and I Want
You to be in the campaign with me! I'm Casting for a
few lucky fans to come to New York City and model my new #Dkny
collection in a special photo shoot with me."
