British
model and actress Suki Waterhouse has taken her first steps in to the design
world. The model, who is currently dating actor Bradley Cooper, is set to
release a line of trainers in collaboration with Italian brand Supergra - she
is also the current face of the label. Opening up on how she approached
designing the footwear, Suki explains that she got started by firstly tracing
different things just to gain some inspiration. She also went window shopping
in Paris and got some great ideas. The model believes that the experience has
given her a good insight in to the design process: "I spent a lot of time putting
paper over my laptop screen and tracing things for inspiration, that bit was
tricky. I was in Paris over that time, so ideas came from shop windows and my
experience there. It was a really interesting process, I learnt a lot."
Consisting
of just three styles, the flatform trainers are set to hit stores at the end of
August this year. When asked if she would like to design further collections
and may be interested in taking further steps in to fashion designs, Suki says
that it has been something she has enjoyed so she would like to see it
happen: "I loved doing it, so let's see what happens next."
Commenting on what she has taken away from the collaboration, Suki explains
that she now understands the value of creating moodboards with her ideas laid
out: "A new enthusiasm for a moodboard."
