France's first lady, Italian-French model, musician and actress
Carla Bruni, has a refined and elegant sense of style that is always well put
together and effortless. Carla has commented on her everyday dress sense, admitting
that she often goes unfussy when she is recording her music or working because
she wants to be comfortable.
When it comes to event style, she is happy to dress up and is
usually drawn to well-tailored suits or statement dresses: "When I'm
working on my music, I wear comfortable clothes, very casual like jeans and
boots. If I'm invited to an event by Bulgari, I enjoy wearing nice dresses or
suits. I love a good suit. It's comfortable, practical and elegant all at
once, especially when set off with a refined pair of shoes, a nice hairdo and
beautiful jewellery."
Carla is the current face of Bulgari's Diva jewellery line and
she comments on what she thinks make the quintessential Bulgari woman while
complimenting the campaign's photographer Terry Ricardson. She
said: "Vivacious, modern, current. She is a modern day diva, who
lives, travels, works. That was the difficulty of the campaign: to show a woman
who knows, despite everything, to maintain a certain air of mystery. The
challenge was fulfilled with Terry Richardson photos. He brought life, flesh
and humanity to the images."
Bruni adds that she has always fallen in love with jewellery
because it often has a romantic or personal story to tell about a
woman: "I'm Italian and I love jewellery. It's generally linked to an
intimate aspect of a woman's life: our youth, our birthdays, our love
stories."
