French fashionista Ines de la Fressange has designed a
collaboration collection for LifeWear Spring 2014 which will soon land in
Uniqlo stores. The Chanel muse and style icon is known for her effortless,
Parisian dress-sense that continues to get her noticed.
Ines has spoken on the new collection designs, commenting on
what it was like to work with a mass market brand. Ines said: "In fact, at first I
thought it would be different—but working with Naoki Takizawa, who also comes
from the luxury world having been the assistant of Issey Miyake, I was happily
surprised by the quality of the fabrics, the preciseness of the fittings, and
the general ethic of the brand."
On her must-have wardrobe staples, Ines says she is drawn to the
simplicity of crisply tailored white pieces: "White jeans, linen jackets,
blouses, cotton shirts, and khaki pants. Customers will find these kind of
pieces in the Uniqlo collection, with nice little details. Everything can be
mixed in an easy way and worn at the office and on the weekend."
Speaking on being a style icon to many and often being labeled
the epitome of French chic, Ines says she simply hopes to pass on some of her
style secrets with the new collaboration pieces: "Thank God, I don't think
about myself in this way! After many years in the fashion business I learned a
few things, and my wish is to give back a part of my experience in order to
help women, such as the trick of mixing casual and sophisticated for
instance."
The collection will launch in Uniqlo stores in March 2014.
