The Scoop
If you hadn’t yet realised, this season is
a little, well, jolly in tone. With every flavour of prints,
Crayola-brights, precious-metal hues and pretty pastels on offer, it is seriously
feel-good out there – and denim certainly hasn’t escaped being spiced up with a
strong dose of fashion Prozac.
Okay, now don’t get scared: if you are a
little colour- or print-phobic, sporting this look on your bottom half is
relatively painless (you can pair with a chic, classic-hued tee or jacket –
check out Freida Pinto in her delicious plum-coloured skinnies.

We adore Current/Elliott’s darling
polka-dot version, but for a softer take, why not try Beg, Borrow or Steal’s
pretty-in-pinks? Wear loose and roll up the hem if you’re worry about your pins
aren’t up to a clingy, block colour.

Feeling brave? Then take your lead from
Cheryl Cole, and the queen of Parisian cool Isabel Marant, and think
pattern as bonkers as you like – we are speechless over Mother’s almost too
fabulous Hawaiian-vista-print, while Paige’s poppies are the perfect way to
tick off two trends in one (full fash-points for colour and floral).
The options are positively endless – go
metallic, go tie-dye (and actually Topshop’s linear print is very
flattering), just go crazy – we double-dare you… But if you still need
convincing that this is a trend, can we direct you to exhibit A: Pippa Middleton
– the patron saint of a sensible nude court, rocking neon skinnies? We rest our
case.

“My mother Gaynor Churchward – a model, who
wore Chlóe evening dresses in town and Gucci trousers tucked into wellies in
the country. Mum could do high glam and understated cool. And, aged 75,
nothing has changed.”

designer collaborations, you really are spoiling us! Its latest hook-up is with
Consuelo Castiglioni’s Marni and features all those signature prints,
