British
model Georgia May Jagger was due to walk the catwalk at the upcoming Camilla
Franks show during Melbourne Fashion Week. However, when she landed in Sydney
to get a connecting flight to Melbourne, Georgia heard the tragic news that her
father's girlfriend, fashion designer L'Wren Scott, had been found dead.
Georgia has opted to cancel her appearance on the catwalk. A representative for
the company commented on the tragedy: ''In light of the recent sad
news, Georgia May
Jagger will not be participating in
VirginAustralia Melbourne Fashion Festival for the Camilla Grand
Showcase. We ask that you respect Ms. Jagger and her
family's privacy at this very difficult time. On behalf of the
Festival and the Camilla team we offer our sincere condolences to Ms. Jagger
and her family.''
Georgia
and L'Wren appeared to have a close relationship and were seen on nights out
together on several occasions. Tributes for the late designer have already been
pouring in, with Vogue UK editor Alexandra Shulman writing: "L'Wren
Scott had a very clear notion of style which informed everything she
did. It's not easy making the transition from stylist to designer, but
every year L'Wren's recognition as a designer and creator of a brand was
increasing."
Meanwhile,
Mick's ex-wife Bianca Jagger also took to twitter to leave a message about the
shocking death, writing a heartfelt message: "Heartbroken to learn of the
loss of the lovely and talented L'Wren Scott. My thoughts and prayers are with
her family. May she rest in peace."
