British
fashion designer Olivia Rubin is known for her striking prints and bold colours
which have been spotted on many celebrities since the label's launch. Opening
up on her work so far, Olivia says she is currently shifting her vision,
experimenting with feminine floral prints and pieces inspired by modern art in
the hopes of appealing to women who hope to revamp their wardrobe with strong
items that stand out from the crowd. Olivia also reveals that her biggest dream
is to dress Kate Middleton: ''I would love to dress Kate Middleton. I'm
currently focusing on dressing women who want to embrace colour and reinvent
their style. I am experimenting with florals in various shapes and sizes
and am especially inspired by modern art.''
When
looking for inspiration from other designers, Olivia says her biggest muse is
Prada's head designer Miuccia, who similarly doesn't fear opting for art
inspired looks, bright colours and imaginative prints. Olivia also believes she
is a woman who is empowered and she thinks that is what makes her stand
out: ''Miuccia Prada is a strong empowered woman who reinvents the
label each season.''
Olivia
admits that her job isn't a walk in the park and she often finds it hard to get
some quiet time to herself, revealing that she doesn't take much of a break
from her design work. She explains that she needs to be fully
committed: ''When you own your own business, it is a 24/7 project - very
hard to switch off! You need to be 100 per cent committed and keep creativity
flowing at all times.''
