British
model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has opened up on the importance of social media
when it comes to her career. With so many models and celebrities using various
social platforms to promote their work, Rosie says that although she used to
shy away from sharing, now she sees it as a positive way to stay in touch with
people, and she is able to control what people see about her life: ''It's
a branch of my work. For a long time I shied away from social media,
but the last couple of years I've become more comfortable in my own
skin. I enjoy giving people a peek inside my life in a controlled way,
away from paps or tabloid rumours.''
The
model recently proved that she is much more than just a pretty face, getting
involved with UNICEF's Soccer Aid charity campaign and taking a
charity trip to Cambodia where she met with disadvantaged children. The model
commented that she had set a goal to be more involved with charity and she's so
happy to have been involved because it gave her a new perspective on
life: ''At the beginning of every year, I make goals, and this year I felt
strongly I wanted to get involved with a charity ... I don't know about
pressure but I feel I've lived a blessed life and it makes you want
to do something with meaning that can make a difference. I went with no
expectation but the trip was so eye-opening and incredibly humbling.''
