Shailene
Woodley and her 'Divergent' co-star Theo James have both spoken on not caring
much about their fashion choices. Shailene always shows up on the red carpet in
original and often elegant evening ensembles, but she says she just follows her
stylist and in real life, doesn't care about fashion. She
explained: ''I don't care about fashion. I have a stylist that does
care about fashion and tells me what to wear. [Theo James and I] don't own many
clothes in our personal lives. Luckily there’s this great woman
that does care about fashion and she’s like ‘here, wear this. “[But] It’s
definitely what you want to wear otherwise you’re just like another fish in the
sea. It’s like an elevated version of yourself. Both of us don’t really
own many clothes in our personal lives. I own three t-shirts.”
Theo
added that he doesn't own much of a wardrobe and doesn't understand why people
put so much effort in to styling themselves: “I genuinely don’t. I own
three pairs of jeans. Sometimes you think ‘why would you bother? I’ll just wear
my own shirt’ but if you’re doing a morning show then a talk show and then a
premiere five times a week, practically you just don’t have enough clothes
unless you’re going to wear the same terrible Topshop t-shirt.”
Although
Shailene prefers a clean eco-friendly lifestyle, she says she wouldn't show up
to a premiere in thrift clothing: “It’s
who I am, it’s my lifestyle. You have to turn the wheels slowly. It would be
disrespectful to turn up at a premiere in clothes [from a thrift shop.]"
