Stepping
in front of the camera while knowing that the resulting images will not be
re-touched before hitting billboards, magazines and the internet takes guts -
but actress Vanessa Hudgens has squared up to the daunting challenge. Appearing
in new images for Bongo which have no re-touching, Vanessa still looks just as
flawless as ever and has spoken on how she believes the campaign has a positive
message. She praises the company for spreading the idea that everyone is
beautiful: ''I love that the final ad images are unretouched. It's so important
for girls to remember that real beauty shines from within and I'm so proud that
Bongo is choosing to send such a positive message with this campaign.''
Dari
Marder is Iconix's chief marketing officer and she explained that she hopes
this more authentic approach to photography shows girls they don't need to
cover up their own photos with filters and heavy photoshop. She says the
message the new images brings is that girls can feel comfortable simply being
themselves and don't have to aspire to look a certain way that they see in
magazines: ''In the age of Instagram filters and Photoshop apps, it is more
important than ever that Bongo remains committed to inspiring girls to feel
comfortable in their own skin and we are excited to be partnering with Vanessa
to send that message with this campaign.''
Speaking
on her personal style, Vanessa said she is attracted to bright colours and
bohemian inspired designs when it comes to getting dressed: "My style goes
from like really bohemian, flowy, to a little more gypsy-esque with vibrant
colors and lots of jewellery."
