British
label Whistles has been officially invited to join the schedule at London
Fashion Week by the British Fashion Council. Whistles have already shown as
part of the Fashion Week previously, but the label will now be officially
recognized as part of the London Fashion Week event.
Whistles
CEO Jane Shepherdson commented on the news, stating that she feels excited to
be accepted in to such a prestigious Fashion Week and she looks forward to
bringing the label to a new audience with the newfound support of the British
Fashion Council: "We are delighted to be a part of the schedule this
season. It is great to be recognised by the British Fashion Council and
the press that have supported the brand over the years. It's a good opportunity
for us to meet all the international press that attend and that are steadily
growing in their numbers and showing their support."
Jane
added that the company are hoping to create a presentation that will "immerse
people in the brand". They are hoping to launch on a global scale in the
future and they're excited to reach international press through their link with
London Fashion Week. She said: "It has really helped us to take a
step towards the global brand that we are working towards. We have had a great
deal of support from international press who have discovered the brand, as well
as retailers and e-commerce sites. It has also elevated the brand and allowed
us to create a collection that showcases the design team's skills."
