British
shoe designer Chloe Jade Green has spoken on her inspiration for her new
Spring/Summer 2014 collection. She explains that much of her inspiration has
been sourced from her travels. She recently spent some time in both USA and
South America, and went to explore the local markets. Impressed by what she
saw, the designer poured her inspiration in to her new range which has just
launched: ''I have been travelling a lot to get inspiration for my
range. I've spent time in the States and South America to get an idea of the
markets out there.''
Chloe
says she has been following footwear trends but doesn't often take her
inspiration directly from the catwalk because she always wants her pieces to
represent her own tastes. She says she wants her designs to have their own
personality and she isn't interested in simply copycatting: ''I am following the trend for
lower heels this season but I didn't take much inspiration from the catwalks
because I always want to base my designs on what I'd wear myself. I
don't want to lose what's me.''
Describing
her personal sense of style, Chloe comments that while her taste is usually
"edgy chic" she likes the look to be as effortless as possible. She
also likes to mix designer items with high street finds and enjoys mixing
different pieces together to create unique looks: ''I would say I'm
edgy chic but effortlessly put together. I love Givenchy and YSL and high
street wise, I usually shop in Topshop and I love Zara at the moment.''
