Style
icon Olivia Palermo is finally trying her hand at design as of late, much to
the delight of those who admire her effortless city-inspired style. Earlier
this year, Olivia collaborated with sunglasses company Westward Leaning on a
capsule sunglasses line, and now she's partnered with Italian footwear company
Aquazzura. The new collection includes boots, heels, sandals and more, and will
retail between $600 to $1,625. The designs will be available through a
selection of 12 big name luxurious department stores such as Saks and Lane
Crawford, while online retailer Net-a-Porter will be the only place to purchase
the pieces online.
Speaking
on working with Olivia, Aquazzura designer Edgardo Osorio commented that
they've been speaking about working together for quite some time because
Palermo has regularly worn his designs in the past and he believed they would
make a unique partnership: "Olivia basically has been our unofficial
ambassador. She's always wearing the shoes. We're friends and we were talking
more than a year ago about a small capsule that would be Olivia's eye and
aesthetic but with the Aquazzura style."
Speaking
on working with Aquazzura, Olivia commented that she sees customers who want to
buy luxurious items that have attention to quality when they're spending so
much money. She also believes people aren't willing to spend on a design they
don't find visually appealing and she thinks her items tick all of the boxes:
"Everything is so expensive these days and you still want to have things
that you can find and have quality and the design aesthetic and be happy."
