Many baby girls like making up at home for
fun, others want it every day. These are some tips for you to control this
habit.
Many
baby girls like making up at home for fun, others want it every day
Louise Simos’ daughter, Alexandra, started
to make up at home when she was 9 when she played the “make-up” games with her
friends. “Then she just made up at home and recorded it for fun” – said Simos.
But at 11, she started to use sheer lipsticks and eye makeup every day. “I let
her undergo herself but asked her to look at the mirror before going out” –
reported Simon – “after 1 – 2 times, I asked her if she thought that she made
such a strong makeup, and then we talked seriously”.
Sara Dimerman – a psychology expert –
explained: “It is a normal situation when 8 or 9 year-old girls like making up.
What is the reason? At this age, girls want to behave and look like adults, and
makeup can help them with their desirable appearances”. However, Dimerman
advised that girls should be 12 -13 years old and they can make up slightly
when going out.
Parents are usually confused when their
girls are addicted to making up. If we agree to let them use sheer lipsticks,
they will continue with asking for using eye makeup and twinkling red
lipsticks. We will worry that makeup will make our daughter to look older than
they are but we don’t dare to say because they can’t control their feelings to
those complaints. On another hands, making up is a normal stepping-stone for
the kids to develop their potential creativities.
These are Dimmerman’s advices when you want
to object to their extreme makeup habits:
Don’t forbid them
If you make a complete ban on their makeup,
they will make up at school underhand. Set some limits with which both you and
the children feel comfortable: only make up at home, or some special occasions
such as weddings; or low-glossy sheer lipsticks and transparent mascara are
acceptable.
Show them the right way
Start with letting them to make-up shops
where you girls can learn from the experts. In addition, there are many clips
instructing making-up that they can learn by themselves on YouTube. Don’t
forget to confirm and contribute for them.
Encourage them to take care of skin
Many teenagers have to encounter their periods
with gaps, a little firming cream and opaque cream can make them more
confident. When discussing about making up, you can share about skin care, such
as always use facial foam to remove the make-ups.
Encourage them to
take care of skin
Challenge the public opinion
Let them know that individuals have their
own beauty through images of different beauty traits. This is also a good
opportunity to talk about self-respecting. Show them which should be imitated
and which values they should keep for themselves.
Valuable examples
If we say: “I can’t go out without making
up”, girls will think that they shouldn’t go out without making up carefully.
But you can change your words a little bit, such as “I think you can make up
enough to light up your beauty. Making up is a part of growth-up process, but
you should make up only a little”.
