Oscar-winning
actress Lupita Nyong'o attended the recent MTV Movie Awards, shining on the red
carpet in a colourful Chanel dress. The actress also had her own unique beauty
look going on which stood out from the crowd. As well as a statement mohawk
hairdo, Lupita sparkled with glittery '70s disco-inspired' eye makeup.
Her make-up artist Nick Barose explained how they decided upon the look
and says he wanted to make sure that it made a big impact while also suiting
her outfit choice: ''It's pretty out there. We went with something kind of
'70s disco-inspired, but wearable, not costume-y. When you're wearing a
really colourful dress like Lupita's Chanel one, silver is a good
option.''
Lupita's
look was completed with a Lancome lipstick in Saffron Silk and Barose explained
that while they wants to make her lips pop, they didn't want to take the
attention away from her bold silver eyeshadow choice: ''We didn't want to
compete with the eye. This colour isn't too bright, but it still pops.''
He
adds that the actress was a huge fan of the result and always tries to do
something new and fun with her makeup for red carpet events because she thinks
it's the perfect time to experiment. Barose gushes that Lupita looks gorgeous
with almost any eye or lip colour: ''She loved it. She looks good in every
colour. We always go for something fun that we haven't done before.'' The
actress was recently named as the new face of beauty company Lancome and is set
to star in their new campaign.
