When
it comes to applying makeup on oily skin, there are a few rules and tips that
can help keep makeup looking great despite the problem that excess oil can
present. To begin your beauty look, apply a mattifying moisturiser, which will
help you to create a matte finish. Search for an oil-free primer which will
hold your makeup in place during the day, making it last longer - apply this
over the moisturiser to complete your solid base to begin applying makeup.
When
you apply your foundation, opt for a matte finish formula that is oil-free. Use
a sponge such as a Beauty Blender to work the product into your skin - the
sponge will help it stay firmly in place, absorbing any oil and seamlessly
blending. Finish off your foundation by applying matte powder, paying special
attention to your t-zone area - but don't over-powder as this can just encourage
more oil and create streaks or patches. To keep the beauty look fresh, reach
for blotting papers during the day, blotting off any excess oil and then
lightly powdering over the areas again to quickly fix your makeup. You can even
add a layer of matte blush which blends perfectly into the skin, keeps oil at
bay and adds some colour to your look.
Don't
forget about eyes - oily eyelids tend to cause eyeshadow to collect in the eye
crease over time, so don't skip over preparing your eyes in the same way as
your skin before getting started - adding some matte powder before applying an
eyeshadow will also help keep it in place for longer.
