Although
extravagant and intricate nail art was all over the catwalks during the
Autumn/Winter 2014 Fashion Weeks, at Paris nails returned to a more classic
look – simple block colour painted nails made a return for many of the shows
and thankfully it’s a very easy look to replicate. Shades varied from neutral
to deep violets, blacks and reds. Always complimenting each designer’s own
vision, select your polish based on what you’ll be wearing to make a
bold statement.
1. Agnes B
Nails at
Agnes B were as simple as they come – they were effortlessly painted in a
glossy transparent coat with nothing fancy added above or below the glossy
layer. Pick up some transparent polish or just add a traditional top coat
polish over unpolished nails to quickly get the look. This look is natural and
looks great day or night.
2. Alexis Mabille
The shocking
purple nails at the Alexis Mabille show coordinated beautifully with the
garments on the catwalk. Select a deep purple shade in a glossy finish to
channel a similar look – keep nails filed and rounded.
3. Chloe
Parisian
label Chloe delivered another lesson in neutral beauty. Their pale French
manicure was toned down and elegant, while bold gold rings drew further
attention to the perfectly created nails. Make sure your nails are flawlessly
groomed before applying subtle French tips and a lighter transparent white all
over nails.
4. Jean Paul Gaultier
Jean Paul
Gaultier’s dramatic cateye makeup and plaited hairbuns weren’t the only
interesting part of his beauty look – the electric teal glossy nails also grabbed
plenty of attention. The shade was shimmery and almost metallic.
5. Maiyet
Maiyet
showed their own version of the muted nails trend, opting for a glossy dark
grey nails with short finger tips. The nails were rounded and clean-edged.
