Style
icon Olivia Palermo has opened up on the unique places she searches for
personal fashion inspiration. Olivia says she often turns to "old fashion
imagery" when wanting to create original outfit ideas and loves digging up
vintage inspired looks. However, she also thinks there is a lot to be said for
a healthy figure, and thinks it is often more important than anything else: ''I
like to look at old fashion imagery of models such as Anna Karina for
inspiration for my style. But it's not about your make-up or the clothes you
wear. It's health on the inside that shines through.''
Olivia
reveals that her love of all things fashion and beauty started from a very
young age because of her mother. She strongly believes in taking care of her
appearance and thinks skin needs to be nourished and maintained. She also
believes looking fresh and awake is the best possible beauty look: ''Fashion and beauty give me endless inspiration. My appreciation started through my
mother at a young age. My ethos is that you need to take care of your skin so
you feel and looked nourished. The best compliment you can receive is that you
look well rested.''
The
New York based socialite thinks makeup and hair styling shouldn't be about
covering up, but bringing out a person's true identity and allowing it to
shine: ''Beauty can transform you, but it should be about having fun and
feeling confident. Make-up and hairstyles shouldn't mask who you are but bring
out the best of who you are.''
