British model Agyness Deyn has designed another capsule
collection of vintage inspired designs for Dr. Martens. Previously having
collaborated for the past three seasons with the company, Agyness has hit her
stride with the new fourth collection of just 6 footwear designs and further
clothing pieces, each inspired by 1970s California girl style. Featuring
lace-up ankle boots, baseball inspired pieces and printed items, the collection
stands out as quirky and original. Commenting on the line, the model-turned-actress
said that she fell in love with the early Venice Beach scene which proved to be
her main inspiration point when designing the items featured.
She said she wanted the result to be
relaxed and beachy: "It's great to have the freedom to play in so
many style camps with the Docs girl. I was obsessing over the euphoria of
summer and found that Docs has roots all the way into the early Venice Beach hardcore
scene, which is very different from the East Coast. The inspiration is
extremely laid-back, low-key beach rat."
Starring in the lookbook alongside
other models and characters, Agyness proudly shows off her designs in a
lookbook that further reflects her vision. Having fun by the beach and wrapped
up in a hammock, the photos show off the model's great fashion-sense. Currently
now living in Los Angeles with her actor husband Giovanni Ribisi, Agyness has
clearly immersed herself in her surroundings and her new pieces have a chilled
out Americana vibe that will no doubt appeal to previous fans of her designs.
