Lipstick,
especially in a bright shade, can be hard to apply just right - but there are a
few tricks and tips that can make sure it stays put and looks flawless even
throughout the day. To begin with, start with freshly exfoliated lips - you can
even use sugar to exfoliate if you don't have a special product. While there
are many coloured lip liners on the market, a nude one that matches your skin
is a good idea - you can use it to subtly define the edges of your lips, and it
blends into your skin too. You can use the nude liner all over your lips to
create a strong base - and you can even powder over this to make any colour
applied over appear more vibrant.
Make
sure you select a lipstick shade that suits your skin tone. When you're in the
store, pick up the tester and apply some on your hand - does it make a good
match? Don't forget to think about the colour of your eyes and hair, these can
help make the look more coordinated also. There are many ways to apply
lipstick, but the most accurate way is with a slim lip brush that allows you to
pick up the lipstick product and paint it on with small strokes, making sure
the outer lines are perfect. Work out towards the edges and pay close attention
to defining the edge of your lip, making sure it is flawless. If you want the
colour to stay on for longer, use a finishing product or blot your lips between
tissue paper and apply another layer over to add extra hold.
