The skin of your little angel is thinner and more vulnerable
than yours. Therefore, the summer’s sun may not harm you but your children,
leading to a deep pink color and some serious discomfort. Luckily, you can take
care of the sunburn at home as long as it’s not a blistering one. Keep your
baby comfortable until her skin is recovered, and the next time, find the shade
for her when you’re outside.

Instructions
1. Let her use acetaminophen
at the proper dosage when she cries and hurts because of the sunburn. That drug
can reduce either the pain or swelling. Just follow the instructions of your
doctor about the dosage.
2. Apply cold
compresses to the affected area. You can use wet washcloths or a frozen veggies
bag. Although your baby can be react to the cold, it can reduce swelling and
soothe the sunburn of your baby while it is recovering.

3. Wear loose
clothes for her. Friction may hurt her thin skin, so remember to use loose
cotton clothes or nightwear to reduce the friction and keep your baby cool.
4. Let her drink
more water to prevent from dehydration. Because burned skin loses more moisture
than the healthy one, don’t be surprise if your baby wants to be breastfed more
than often. If she is less than 6 months, you don’t need to supply water; she
has enough water from breast milk and formula. If not, hydrate her with a sippy
cup.
