Vegetable is one of the sources that provide vitamins and mineral salt for body and it helps children absorb nutrients and increase immune system. We often think that feeding children vegetable is a simple thing; however, it is rather complex.

The following mistakes take place before, in and after cooking dishes of vegetables for children, mothers should especially pay attention:

1.     Cutting vegetables and then washing

Many mothers fear that chemicals in vegetable aren’t eliminated completely, so they are careful to cut vegetables small and then wash it. In reality, this is a wrong way because mothers are unintentional to wash and make many nutrients of vegetable lose. The best way is that mothers should wash vegetables cleanly and then cut it and cook.

2.     Washing vegetables carelessly

Many mothers believe that when they buy vegetables and fruits in clean vegetable store or supermarket, their quality is ensured. Therefore, they feel secure to wash vegetables only with 1 or 2 turns of water and then cook it for children to eat. But in reality, vegetables in supermarket are much dirtier than things normal eyes can see. Do not let green and delicious look of vegetables cheat you.

3.     Time for preparing vegetables has long distance with time of cooking

Many women have habit of buying a lot of vegetables and store them. When they are free, they will prepare and wash them; they put them in fridge and take them to cook after a long time. This way will make vegetables not fresh and they will lose a lot of nutrients.

This is a method that is antiscientific to help vegetables become soft. This way makes not only nutrients in vegetables lose but also catches copper.
