To provide enough calcium for little babies, parents should give scientific diet for babies. Milk and finished products from milk (cheese, yoghurt…); they are source of foods containing calcium most. Whole milk and fresh milk have the similar content of calcium. Moreover, kinds of vegetable that have dark green, sea foods (shrimp, crab, oyster), fish, bean… are sources that provide natural calcium for the body.

Besides diet, parents should pay attention to let children sunbathe, exercise under sunlight regularly to improve absorption of vitamin D and calcium.

Mothers should only use medicines that add calcium when doctors fill a prescription and give advice. In time from 0-12 months old, mothers need to eat enough and diversification of foods, eat more meals and drink 200ml formula milk before going to bed because mother’s milk secretes a lot at night and in this period, babies continue sucking mothers’ milk.

Time for providing calcium is very important. If you provide babies with calcium in daytime, folic acid and tannic acid that are in foods with form of vegetation a lot will combine with calcium ion to inform insoluble calcium salt, excrete outside directly, through waste that the body doesn’t take full advantage of anything.

·         High content: At presents, many kinds of functional medicine or foods that provide calcium are sold in the market. Most of them are inorganic calcium having low content while body needs to be provided with 500mg calcium a day.

·         Not stimulate stomach and bowel: There are some products that have serious alkaline or have acid feature that can stimulate stomach and bowel.

·         Provide other nutrients for body such as vitamin D, Lysyn, amine acid, vitamin, micronutrients that can help the body absorb calcium easier.

·         Not causing constipation: At present, there are many products that provide calcium; however, they easily cause constipation for babies.
