Actress
Mila Kunis is the new face of Gemfields ethical jewellery for the upcoming
season. Photographed by famed photographer Peter Lindbergh, the new
campaign sees Mila posing completely raw with no makeup in a set of stunning
black&white images. Highlighting her natural beauty, Mila commented that it
was a unique photo shoot because it was pared back but she still felt beautiful
when she appeared on camera and she admits it was an amazing
experience: "When we talked through the direction and that the focus
was on natural beauty - which really meant no make-up, no blow day and no
retouching - I have to say I was a little anxious. Peter has a way of making
you feel bare and raw, but in a funny way it's the most beautiful I have ever
felt on a photo shoot."
As
the new face of the jewellery label, Mila decided to learn more about their
pieces by taking a trip to Zambia to visit the Kagem emerald mine used by
the company. She said that it opened her eyes to the raw beauty of the jewels
and she also had a unique experience because she came face-to-face with the
gems that have been in the mine for possibly millions of years: "The
visit to the Kagem emerald mine was fascinating and the trip itself was
unforgettable - it was also the first time I'd been to Africa! These gems
have been forming underground for millions of years, and for me to be the first
person to touch them - well you really start to appreciate their rarity."
