She may be a seasoned expert when it comes to walking the
catwalk, but British model Naomi Campbell has admitted that it's still never
easy to step out in front of a big crowd because anything can go wrong in the
moment. Naomi says that although she has been doing the same thing for a long
time she still gets pre-appearance jitters because she fears the unknown and
wants it go to flawlessly when she steps on to the runway:''I'm nervous before
I step on any runway, no matter how long I've been doing this career. A
shoe could break, your dress could fall down ... you could slip. Anything could
happen!''
Naomi has been following in the footsteps of models Tyra Banks
and Heidi Klum by appearing on TV (she is a judge on 'The Face') and says she
is happy with the comparison because she respects both models and thinks
they've done great work:''I respect Tyra and Heidi. I think what they've done
is amazing, and they've lead the way.''
Speaking on 'The Face', Naomi adds that she is happy to fight
her corner and would love to win the competition by mentoring the top model
this time around. Naomi says she doesn't intentionally bring drama to the table
but it quite often happens: ''We like drama, right? When we're filming The
Face, I'm not thinking about drama, but I am who I am. Will I fight to the
bitter end for the girls and will I be their protector? Absolutely, 100
percent.''
